The short version
- Life Anchor helps you keep tasks, routines, reminders, notes and money in one place. It’s free to use, with some Premium features.
- What you put in Life Anchor is yours. You let us store and process it only to run Life Anchor for you.
- Use it lawfully and fairly, keep your password safe, and don’t try to break or misuse the service.
- Reminders, money features and AI help you remember and organise; they aren’t a safety system or professional advice. Check anything important.
- You can stop at any time and delete your account in Settings.
01This agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Daboul (“we”, “us”), the maker of Life Anchor. They apply to Life Anchor for Android, Life Anchor for Windows (downloaded from download.daboul.uk or the Microsoft Store), the website and web app at daboul.uk and app.daboul.uk, and the service behind them (together, “Life Anchor”).
By installing Life Anchor, creating an account, signing in or otherwise using it, you agree to these Terms and confirm you’ve read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Life Anchor. If you use Life Anchor for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these Terms for it.
02What Life Anchor is
Life Anchor is a personal organiser: tasks and reminders, routines, notes, focus sessions, an Inbox for things to sort, people you deal with, and a record of your spending and accounts. One account works on every platform, and your data syncs between them. Some features need an internet connection; some are only on certain platforms. A version marked Beta, such as Life Anchor for Windows, is still being finished and may have more rough edges than the rest.
03Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old, or older where your country sets a higher age for agreeing to the use of personal data (16 in some countries), unless a parent or guardian agrees for you.
- Give a real email address you can receive mail at; we use it to sign you in and to reach you about your account.
- Keep your password and your devices safe. You’re responsible for what happens in your account, unless it’s our fault. Tell us straight away at privacy@daboul.uk if you think someone else has got in.
- An account is for one person. Don’t share it, sell it or make accounts by automated means.
04Your licence to use Life Anchor
While you follow these Terms, we give you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, which we may revoke, to install and use Life Anchor on devices you own or control, for your own personal use, including organising your own work.
You may not, and may not let anyone else: copy, modify, sell, rent, lend or redistribute the apps (other than sharing a link to our download page); reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble them, except where the law allows it despite this restriction; remove notices or branding; or use Life Anchor to build a competing product. The Life Anchor installer for Windows and the Android app downloaded from our site are offered only from daboul.uk and the stores we name; copies from anywhere else aren’t ours and may be unsafe.
05Fair use
Don’t use Life Anchor to:
- break the law or anyone’s rights, including privacy and intellectual-property rights;
- store or send unlawful, harmful or abusive material, or malware;
- get into accounts, data or systems that aren’t yours, test or get around our security, or overload or disrupt the service (for example with automated requests, scraping or excessive use of the AI features);
- add other people’s personal data without a lawful reason. If you add people, receipts or messages that concern others, you’re responsible for having the right to do so;
- pretend to be someone else, or mislead anyone about who you are.
06Your content
Everything you put into Life Anchor (tasks, notes, money records, receipts, people and so on) remains yours. You give us a limited, worldwide licence to store, copy, process and display it only to run Life Anchor for you: syncing it, showing it to you, backing it up, and powering the features you choose. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from the short time the Privacy Policy describes for removal.
We don’t look through your content, but we may access it if you ask us to (for support), if it’s needed to keep the service secure, or if the law requires it. Keep your own copies of anything important; you can export your data at any time in Settings.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything; it doesn’t give us any rights to your other content.
07Features you should know about
Reminders and notifications
We work hard to deliver reminders on time, but they depend on your device, its settings (battery saving, Do Not Disturb, notification permissions) and connections we don’t control. Don’t rely on Life Anchor alone for anything where a missed reminder could cause harm, such as taking medicine, safety checks or legal deadlines.
Money features
Spending records, budgets, statement imports and exchange rates help you keep track; they aren’t financial, tax, accounting or legal advice. Imports and automatic categories can be wrong, and exchange rates are reference rates that may differ from what your bank charges. Life Anchor never moves money and isn’t a bank or payment service.
AI and voice
Speech-to-text and the AI features (which use OpenAI, see the Privacy Policy) can mishear, misread or make mistakes. Check suggestions before you rely on them. AI features have usage limits.
Gmail and message capture
These turn messages into suggestions for you to approve. Only connect accounts and apps that are yours, and remember messages may contain information about others.
Sign-in crew
The characters on the sign-in pages are there for fun. What they say is not advice.
08Premium and prices
Life Anchor is free. Some features are marked Premium (for example the styles and the AI features). There is no payment in the apps today: Premium is currently granted by us, and when it has an end date it stops then. If we start charging for Premium, we’ll show the price, the billing period and how to cancel before you buy; payments would then follow the terms shown at purchase and, for app-store purchases, that store’s rules, and you keep any rights to cancel or get a refund that the law gives you. We may change which features are Premium; if we take away something you’ve paid for, we’ll tell you in advance and treat you fairly.
09Other companies’ services
Life Anchor works with services from other companies, such as Google (Gmail, Android notifications), OpenAI (speech-to-text and AI), Microsoft (the Microsoft Store and Windows) and Cloudflare (hosting). When you use them through Life Anchor, their own terms may also apply, for example Google’s terms when you connect Gmail, or the Microsoft Store’s terms when you install from it. We aren’t responsible for those services, and if one changes or stops, the feature that relies on it may change or stop too.
10Changes and availability
- We keep improving Life Anchor, so features may be added, changed or removed. If we remove something important or stop Life Anchor altogether, we’ll tell you at least 30 days ahead where we reasonably can, so you can export your data.
- We aim to keep the service available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, by problems with our providers or by things outside our control. The apps keep an offline copy so you can keep working, and sync when the service is back.
- We may update these Terms. We’ll change the effective date and, for changes that matter to you, tell you in the apps or by email before they apply. If you keep using Life Anchor after that, you accept the new Terms; if you don’t agree, you can stop and delete your account.
11Ending this agreement
You can stop using Life Anchor at any time and delete your account in Settings → Account & privacy → Delete account; that ends these Terms. We may suspend or close an account, or limit a feature, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we must for legal reasons, or to protect other people or the service. Where we can, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to fix things and export your data first. Sections 6 (feedback), 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 continue after the agreement ends.
12Our name and our work
Life Anchor’s apps, website, design, text, the Rope Ring logo, the name “Life Anchor” and the sign-in crew (Sunny, Milo, Dot and Chip) belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms don’t give you any right to use them beyond using Life Anchor as described here. Some parts of the apps are open-source software, used under their own licences.
13Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, Life Anchor is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of data loss, or that it fits a particular purpose, beyond what these Terms say. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that the law says can’t be limited.
14Liability
To the extent the law allows: we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, business, data or opportunity, arising from your use of Life Anchor, including missed reminders, mistakes in AI output, imports or exchange rates, or problems with other companies’ services. Our total liability to you for all claims about Life Anchor is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Life Anchor in the 12 months before the claim and 50 euros.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or intent, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law.
If you break these Terms or the law when using Life Anchor and that leads to claims against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that result, to the extent the law allows.
15Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Türkiye have jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring a claim in your local courts; where that applies, Turkish consumer arbitration committees and courts remain available to you too. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at privacy@daboul.uk: most problems can be solved quickly that way.
16General
- These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Life Anchor. If you install from the Microsoft Store or another store, that store’s terms also apply between you and the store.
- If a part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce something straight away, we haven’t given up the right to.
- You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer them to another organisation that takes over Life Anchor, without reducing your rights.
- We may send you notices by email or in the apps. These Terms are written in English, and the English version applies if a translation differs.
